Diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and joint degenerative diseases, such as the injury of articular cartilage, ligament and tendon insertion, osteoarthritis of knee and other joints, ectopic ossification and other sports-related refractory injuries. He is also good at the early treatment of femoral head necrosis and repair of the articular cartilage damage by using tissue engineering methods.


Professor Yu graduated from Peking University Medical School and stayed as Director of the Institute of Sports Medicine of Peking University Third Hospital. He was a visiting scholar at State University of New York at Stony Brook US and visiting professor at University of Ottawa, Canada, he is also an honorable professor of University of Pittsburgh US. His main research focus includes sports related injuries and joints degenerative diseases. He was elected as consultant and chief rehabilitation physician for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. From 2003 to 2008, he was a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress.
